Goody bags:

Do you remember when you were a child and going to a party meant you got a goody bag? Usually that bag was filled with fun toys and tasty, overly sweet treats that normally your own mother wouldn't let you have, but "it is a special occasion" always won out. That meant that you usually ate all of the candy as Fast you possibly could before she changed her mind. Then you spent the next hour playing with the cool new toys from your goody bag at a speed that could break the sound barrier.

As an adult the concept of a goody bag still brings back fond memories of afternoons spent blissfully buzzing. However, now the goody bag has taken on a more sophisticated flare. This very cost effective favor gives you a chance to really get your creative juices moving. Here are the basic Supplies that you'll need:

* A basket

* filler for the basket, tissue paper or fake grass work really well.

* Home made treats: Cookies are the obvious easily made choice.

You can, of course, get really fancy and make several types of treats and even print up cards with the recipe to accompany the treats that you have made.

Spa Kit:

The majority of baby showers are attended by a woMen only crowd, making this kit an ideal choice for your guests. It is always fun to be pampered and with this kit you can provide the tools for pampering. Here are some simple and cheap idea's for this kit.

* A portable nail kit

* Lotion

* Bath soaps

* scented candle

Again, this can be fancied up or down depending on your budget. For some of the more creative people out there you can find a recipe for home made facial masks, lotions, and soaps. For the less creative all of these items can be found in the travel section of a grocery store or even the Dollar store. Still keeping it cost effective and fun!

Coffee or Tea?

No matter what the preference is, you can be sure that most people at the part drink one or the other. For this goody these are the items you'll need.

* Blank baggies of the color of your choice

* Labels

* Enough coffee beans or loose leaf tea to fill the baggies.

For this one you can utilize your printer and have labels custom made for the baby shower. Each bag should have the label put onto it, just be sure to add somewhere on the package what exactly is in the bag. If you want to add another cute detail you can find scoops that you can tie to the package.

Custom made frames:

With this one you can give them a present twice! You can custom make frames with simple wooden frames from the local craft store and some paint, and fill the frame with the baby shower date. During the shower you can take pictures of everyone during the festivities. When it's time to send out those many thank you cards send a picture of each person with the card to fill that new frame they just got! It's a great way to leave a lasting memory with all of your guests!

When you are asked to or need to organize baby shower decorating it can quite a daunting task especially if this is the first time you have done it. It can also be easy to get carried away and over spend.

Baby Shower Decorating - The Affordable Way

You do not have to spend too much to achieve a beautifully decorated shower. Sometimes simple looks much better than expensively decorated baby showers that are almost over decorated.

One of the key ways to cut down on costs is to use items for more than one purpose. A great example of this is to have the centerpiece as a diaper cake. The diaper cake can make a useful present for the expectant mother/mother and be used as a table decoration. Guests can chip in to help with the expense of the cake if need be.

Balloons are very popular. They are a reasonable priced way to decorate a shower, they look fantastic and can be used in many ways. They also make great decorations as they come in different colors, shapes and patterns. They can also be used outside to indicate where the shower is located. Balloons can be used to decorate the room by hanging from the ceiling and can also be used to decorate guests chAirs, and to make the mothers chAir the center of attention and stand out in photos. They are also a great way to decorate the central table where Food and drinks are located.

Favors can also double as decorations. Little balloons can be attached to sweet jars as favors which will look great on the guests tables. Candles can also be used to decorate the tables and can be used as favors.

Other inexpensive options are confetti which can be used to decorate the tables. Streamers are also a great way to add color and can be used to tie balloons together.

Banners are also an expensive yet highly effective way to decorate a shower. They are a great way to announce where the celebration is located as well.

Practical items such as paper plates, cups, napkins and forks can match the theme of the baby shower and will therefore help to decorate the baby shower.

Baby shower decorating ideas are almost endless and a baby shower can be very inexpensively and tastefully decorated. The most important thing to remember is that the purpose of is to make the expectant mother/mother feel special and to celebrate with her on the day.

Stuck for an idea for a baby shower or new baby gift? Stunning but Want something that you can make yourself? Try following my instructions on how to make a baby Clothing bouquet. You are going to need:

• Selection of new baby Clothing-items that work well are little bodysuits, hats, bibs & socks. Check out ranges from supermarkets for some really trendy pieces that won't break the bank
• Artificial Flowers (full size & thumbnails) and Foliage-you can find these in the craft type stores such as Hobbycraft or even in stores such as Wilkinson shop.I find that foam roses are the most realistic but you could choose whatever you wanted.
• Rubber bands – these are to secure each clothing item once rolled
• Florist tape to wrap around the clothing ' buds ' and to help secure the whole bouquet together
• Tissue paper
• Vase-get down to Ikea for really cheap glass vases or again try your local Wilkinson shop or Supermarket range. I also like the cardboard ' living ' vases which come flat packed although it may be harder to source these on an individual basis.

Making the packages:

• Firstly take each item of baby clothing in turn and roll them up. The larger items will need folding in half and possibly in half again before rolling up the length of the item. Secure each roll with anelastic band. This will give you your flower ' buds '.

• Take an artificial flower stem (cut it off the main stem if you have purchased flowers all attached to a main stem) and insert it underneath the rubber band of one of the flower buds so that the flower comes to rest at the same height as the top of the flower bud roll. If you have also purchased any mini flowers you can pop one of these "underneath the rubber band also slightly further away than the full size flower. If you also have artificial leaves you can secure one of two of them under the rubber band also know that about two thirds of the leaf protrudes above the rest of the flower buds. Do this for each of the items of clothing you have.

• Now you will need to wrap each clothing bud with the florist tape.Start a cm or two below the top of the bud and wrap the tape over the top of the elastic band and then all the way down to the bottom of the clothing item. You should find that you still have some of the stem from the full size artificial flower protruding from the bottom.

• Once they are all wrapped you will need to arrange them all together. Play around with the best combination of flower placeMent. You can twist together the protruding stems from the artificial flowers at the bottom to make more secure and also use another elastic band around the whole bouquet about a centiMeter or two below the top of the bouquet to keep it nice and tight. You can then wrap more florist tape around the elastic band to cover it and bind the packages together.

• Now you need to wrap withthe tissue paper. Coordinating & contrasting colors always look nice, so for example if you are making a bouquet for a girl you could use pinks, purple & white tissue paper. Co-ordinates with the colours of the artificial flowers & clothing that you have chosen. I like to start by folding a sheet of tissue paper in half, then take the bottom left hand corner and bring it over to about 10 cm above the top of the sheet, in the middle. This gives a kind of point jutting out. Take the bouquet and lay it down towards the left hand side of the folded tissue paper sheet so that it lies about 5 inches or so below the jutting out point. Then wrap the sheet around the bouquet and fix with a piece of sellotape. Do this with each sheet of tissue paper in turn.

• Now you are ready to pop thebouquet into the vase that you've chosen.

These baby bouquets make a really stunning centrepiece to a baby shower Party and then mum can appreciate it's beauty for a while before the baby arrives and she has to take it apart to get the clothing out for the baby!

Baby showers can be both a small get together between close friends and family, but these can also be a grand Party. Part of any celebration is of course inviting the guests, and if you want to add a personalized touch to your baby shower invitations, you can choose to make them yourself. Here are a few tips on making homemade invitations.

1. The information you should write to theinvitation should include the name of the baby's parents, where and when the baby shower is to take place, the baby's gender, and the RSVP details. You should also include a line or two that invites your guest to the Party like "Join us in welcoming ..." or "A baby shower in honor of ..." It is also a good idea to write a short verse or two that rhymes to add to the invitation, something like:

Will she need pink?
Or will she need blue?
We don't have long,
She's almost two.

2. As for the materials, you can go to any craft or specialty store for paper you can use for your invitation. You can keep it simple by choosing either blue for a baby boy or pink for girls, and then download and print a baby shower templatefor your invitations. You can also add a personal touch by including a picture of the parents-to-be on the invitation, and other decorations you would want to add.

3. If you have a printer at home which can print pictures, you can print the invitations yourself. This allows you to print out just the quantity you need, and you can also get them done as soon as you can. Of course, you should buy extra paper just in case you make a mistake in printing.

4. don't forget to choose a matching envelope to place your homemade baby shower invitation. You can match the color of the envelope with the invitation itself, or get creative and tie a ribbon on the outside of the envelope to close it. However you want to decorate the invitation and the envelope is reallyup to you.

Homemade baby shower invitations add a personal touch truly to the event, and the parents of the baby who's having the shower will truly appreciate the invitations. Personalized invitations show how much you care, and these are a great way to show you had them in mind as you made these invitations.

Thing One and Thing Two Costumes Guide

Thing One and Thing Two Costumes Guide

Know a couple of mischief makers?

Think their old costume of Dressing up as two peas in a pod is just not doing the trick? For any set of two whether twins, friends, or partners in crime Dressing up as Dr. Seuss's Thing One and Thing Two is a terrific idea. Even while finding themselves in the middle of trouble, the dynamic duo are always having fun. And who could argue? With a red fleece body and electric blue hAir life is nothing but a game. For parents with little time to spare these costumes can be put together quickly and economically. You will be able to take credit for two fantastic looking costumes, without breaking your back to do so.

Putting together the costume

You have many different options for putting together the costume. Easiest of all is buying already made outfits. Another simple solution is finding a plain set of matching red Pants and a long sleeve shirt. For Infants you might be able to get away with a one piece red sleeper made out of fleece. You will want the "Thing 1" and "Thing 2" logo across the center of the costume, so again an already made costume might be easiest. If you decide to make your own head to your local art Supply store for white felt, black iron letters, and sewing equipMent.

Start by tracing a small round plate onto two pieces of white felt and then cut out the pieces you need. Next iron on the letters to spell out Thing 1 and Thing 2 accordingly. Once your logos are complete you can sew or pin them onto the tops of your red costumes. Thing 1 and Thing 2 are nice and hAir from shoulders to toe, so if you happen to have red shoes, lace them up. You can try using red felt or a red magic marker to color shoes of any other shade.

The arguably best part of Thing 1 and Thing 2 is their one of a kind hAir. Fluffy bright blue and a tad eccentric, nothing else is like a Thing 1 and Thing 2 hair do. Trying to get away with normal hair dye certainly wont do. Having the right blue wig will make your costume complete and may come in handy for any other occasion to Dress up. This Halloween show off that special bond and love for one of the greatest authors of all time while staying comfortable in a red fleece. For a family of three, thing one and thing two accompanied by a cat in the hat can be a great idea. Staying true to a Dr. Seuss theme might even win you some extra candy while trick or treating.
